Long-time IPC Volunteers, Gary Ferrari and Nilesh Naik Inducted Into IPC Hall of Fame

March 2, 2015 — In recognition of their extraordinary contributions to IPC and the electronics industry, Gary Ferrari, director of technical support, FTG Circuits, and Nilesh Naik, president, Eagle Circuits, were honored with the IPC Raymond E. Pritchard Hall of Fame Award. Presented at IPC APEX EXPO® at the San Diego Convention Center, the IPC Hall of Fame Award represents IPC’s highest level of volunteer recognition.

For more than three decades, Gary Ferrari has donated countless hours to IPC and his list of IPC achievements is vast. Ferrari spearheaded IPC’s highly successful PWB Designer Certification program, which has trained and recognized more than 2,800 designers to date. In addition, he co-founded the IPC Designers Council, and served as its executive director for many years.  He’s currently a member of the IPC Designers Council Executive Board and is a member of the Designers Council Education Committee.

In addition, his work on standards committees has been long-standing and impactful. He currently serves on 44 technical committees with a leadership role in four. He is a current member of the Technical Activities Executive Committee and served as a TAEC chair.

Among his past honors, Ferrari was recognized in 1990 with an IPC President’s Award for his contributions to IPC and the industry.

Nilesh Naik, first became involved with IPC in the mid-1990s, and quickly took a leadership role within IPC’s volunteer ranks. Among Naik’s IPC activities, he was active in the IPC Designers Council on both a national and regional level for many years. In 1998, he served as chairman of the PCB/IMS Presidents Management Council and is still active on this council. In 2001, he served his first term on IPC’s board of directors.

Naik was again elected to serve on IPC’s board in 2006. During this term, he served as secretary and treasurer. In addition, he was a member of IPC’s Long Range Planning Committee. In 2008, Nilesh was elected IPC Board Chairman. A current member of the Government Relations Steering Committee, Nilesh was recently re-elected to IPC’s Board of Directors.
